Stump Grinding & Stump Removal Services

What’s the Difference?
 

  • ​Stump Grinding: Uses a machine to grind the stump down below ground level (usually 4–12 inches deep). The roots are left to decompose naturally.​

  • Stump Removal: Involves digging out the entire stump and root ball. More labor-intensive and disruptive but eliminates all root material.

  • Minimal impact on surrounding landscape ​

  • Leaves behind wood chips/mulch (can be used in your garden or hauled away) ​


Allows for replanting or lawn installation

Pros:

  • Quicker and less invasive than full removal

Stump Removal – What to Expect

  • Full removal of stump and root system using excavation tools​

  • Ideal if you're planning construction or replanting a tree in the same spot


Requires filling the hole afterward (often with topsoil)

Pros:

  • Completely eliminates regrowth
     

Prevents root spread or interference with foundations

Why Remove or Grind a Stump?
